Do not deduct doors or other openings again if the known area is already net. For several walls or an L-shaped floor, add measured rectangles first and enter their combined area.
This is an area estimate, not a cutting or grout-joint layout. Actual tile dimensions, pattern, edge cuts and reusable offcuts can change the purchase requirement. A pattern label does not automatically select a suitable waste allowance.
For mosaic sheets or cartons with stated coverage, select coverage per box and use the printed coverage. Do not treat a small mosaic chip as a complete retail sheet.

No. It estimates quantities from area and package coverage. It does not place tiles, optimize cuts, subtract grout joints from the tile count, or prove that a selected pattern will fit. Check the actual layout and choose its waste allowance separately.
Find the net surface area, add an allowance for cuts and spare tile, divide by the face area of one tile, and round up to a whole tile. The calculator displays this individual tile count as the main result.
A box, case, or carton is a retail package containing several tiles or a stated square-foot or square-metre coverage. Many tile products are sold only in full packages, so the calculator shows both the individual tiles required and the full boxes or cases to buy.
